WITH AMY MCDONALD
Congratulations you've graduated Yoga Teacher Training. Now what? Time to kick start your Yoga Career!
Having taught yoga since 2013 building a successful business as a resident teacher in London and delivering workshops, retreats and destination classes throughout Europe - my own experience has led me to identify areas of growth and challenges that most new Yoga Teachers come up against...
Looking back I wish there had been support and a community for newly qualified teachers when I first started teaching. Even after over 12 years as a practitioner and completion of a thorough 200 hour Teacher Training, I felt I was running blind and didn't know how to "launch".
Transitioning from the world of Interior Design for hospitality and hotels groups to Yoga Teaching was not an easy step. (This shift from a corporate and structured world to the unknown, whether it be full or part time, where you determine your success and 'entry' as a yoga teacher is the path many of you will be embarking upon). It was only after 2 years in that I found a mentoring programme, which was a game changer. I went through the Jivamukti apprenticeship programme which ran over a year. Since then I have had many different mentors within my business, health and personal development.
These relationships all gave me the boost and means to learn how to make my passion of teaching a sustainable business, with security, financial awareness and how to build my brand and an identity upon which my teaching style, sequencing, class structure, assisting capabilities etc would all be encompassed. It's this knowledge and passion that I aim to share with you.
This program has been created as way to build a bridge for new teachers or teachers that are trying to make it as a full time or part time teacher but are potentially struggling. Perhaps feeling as if they are lacking support, lacking guidance and lacking a community that is standing in their corner shouting HELL...YES YOU CAN!!
This group mentoring program runs over six modules, there will be one module per month held in London. Each module will involve four hours of contact time on a given Sunday. There will then be partner work and home work given to work on in your own time to help you grow in your teaching, personal development, individual creativity and with your yoga business. We will set goals and strategies to enhance your development between modules.
The objective of this course is to systematically build your teaching skills and techniques. Then grow your creativity and confidence so you are ready for real world teaching, teaching in studios and public classes. Working on evolving your teaching style to a place of authenticity and personal experience with a practical approach.
